What Is Laser Vision Correction?

Laser Vision Correction has different meanings to different practices. Here at our practice, when we discuss Laser Vision Correction, we're primarily discussing LASIK, PRK, Implantable Collamer Lens (EVO ICL), Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), and Refractive Cataract Surgery.

Each has different purposes for each individual patient. Our goal is always to reduce your need for glasses and contacts by means of one of these procedures.

The next step is always to come and see which procedure our doctors deem safest for you!

Why Choose Laser Vision Correction?

LASIK

LASIK is a laser vision correction procedure that can treat myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. LASIK is accurate, safe, and has a very short recovery time with minimal discomfort.

PRK

PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is another laser vision procedure that provides the same visual outcome as LASIK but only using one laser versus two. PRK is a great option for those with thin corneas or those who participate in high contact sports such as MMA.

EVO ICL

EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) acts as an internal contact lens, providing immediate vision correction. It is best suited for people with moderate to severe nearsightedness and is a great alternative to LASIK, often producing visual results that are even better than traditional glasses or contacts.

RLE

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) removes the eye’s natural crystalline lens and replaces it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Having RLE surgery before a cataract fully develops means you will never need cataract surgery later in life. The clear vision you receive after your RLE surgery will be the vision you have for the rest of your life.

RCS

Refractive Cataract Surgery (RCS) also removes the eye’s natural crystalline lens and replaces it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Technology of the IOL's have improved greatly over the years. Giving patients the ability to zoom in and out therefore reducing their needs for glasses or contacts.
